A Little About Our Management...

John Lucas-Owner/Founder

John Lucas, owner and founder of Drill Chem, LLC, has over 27 years experience in the oil field. John started in 1979 with Mil Chem. Since then he has served as DM for Chromalloy Drilling Fluids, Southwestern Drilling and Petro Fluids. John decided in 1999 to take his knowledge and expertise and form Drill Chem, LLC. John resides in Corpus Christi with his 3 children.

Kevin “Buck” Buchanan- Operations Manager

Buck joined Drill Chem in July of 2007. He has brought over 33 years experience to our team. Buck got his start as a derrick hand for T-L Drilling in 1974. From 1976-1978 he served as a derrick hand for Atwood Oceanics and a driller for Zapata offshore. Buck was also a mud engineer for Imco Services from 1978-1981, and a consultant for Freeport McMoran from 1983-1990. From 1990-1993 Buck was a mud engineer for Summit Drilling Fluids. In 1993 Buck went on with Desert Drilling Fluids as the Southwestern U. S. & Mexico Manager. He then transitioned in 1997 to Newpark Drilling Fluids as the South Texas Tech Engineer. From 2005-2007 Buck served as the South Texas Operations Manager for Spirit Drilling Fluids before coming on with Drill Chem. Buck's 33 years experience, both foreign (Venezuela, Brazil, Nigeria & Angola) and domestic (Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado & Wyoming), has made him a valuable asset to Drill Chem.
