“DRILLS WITH RETURNS”
DRILL-CHEM'S STOPLOSS material is an easier to use and environmentally acceptable alternative to Diesel-Oil-Bentonite-Cement squeezes (DOBC's). STOPLOSS stops loss circulation with 48 lbs/bbl slurry that can be pumped through MWD tools.
STOPLOSS is a blend of environmentally-safe and non-damaging rheological conversion materials, specially processed to produce a slurry resulting in a dilatant shear-thickening rheological pill at 30 to 50 ppb (Does NOT contain cross-linking polymers)> Excellent results have been obtained in oil muds; add oil wetting agents in making pill.
APPROVED FOR OFFSHORE
A mud slurry prepared from 6 ppb PolyTemp + 6 ppb STOPLOSS will pass the EPA's LC 5 0 test at 592,996 ppm (above 30,000 ppm passes).
RECOMMENDED USE:
STOPLOSS is rapid mixing in either water or oil muds.
Can be pumped through drill bits with 9/32 or larger nozzles.
SEEPAGE LOSSES WHILE DRILLING: 5 to 15 sacks per 90 feet added by hopper into pump suction and pumped downhole while drilling until through loss zones.
TOTAL LOST CIRCULATION: 2 pallets (96 bags of STOPLOSS mixed through hopper to 50 to 70 barrels of mud; Pull pipe above loss zone and pump at ½ normal rate; repeat as needed. It will NOT set up in the drill pipe. DO NOT mix other LCM's with STOPLOSS .
MIXING RULE OF THUMB: Add STOPLOSS in slugging pit until hopper quits taking product. At this point pill is ready to pump. Amount of product required will depend on mud weight of drilling fluid.
